Robert B. Simon, President Curriculum Vitae
Robert B. Simon received his doctorate in art history from Columbia
University and has lectured extensively and authored numerous publications in
the fields of Old Master paintings, connoisseurship, valuation, and
collecting. He has been a research fellow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
as well as a consultant to museums, art dealers, institutions, and private
collectors. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of
Appraisers and a Certified member of the Appraisers Association of America,

Rachel S. Ropeik, Gallery Director
Rachel Ropeik came to Robert Simon Fine Art from the Metropolitan Museum of
Art's European Paintings department. In addition to the Met, she has held
positions at Appraisal Resource Associates, Inc. and the Davis Museum and
Cultural Center. She studied Art History and French at Wellesley College, the
University of St Andrews, and the Université de Provence and has written and
lectured on topics ranging from 19th century French painting to connoisseur
level collecting. She is currently a member of the Education Committee of the
